LEGENDS & HORROR

 

      One of the coolest projects I've had the good fortune of being a part of this year was drawing a story for PLB Comics very first 'HALLOWEEN SPECIAL' which features 5 different types of horror and include new stories from one of PLB's biggest titles "GIDEON & SEBASTIAN'. 
     Working with PLB is always fun since they publish the type of comics I myself enjoy reading, but this issue was particularly exciting to do because I had the pleasure of collaborating with Greg LaRocque who is beyond talented when it comes to illustrating comics. 
     Greg came up with a story that borders more on fantasy but with enough gore to find its place in the book. Since he initially wrote a loose script for us, it gave plenty of room for us both to be extra creative with it & take a great deal of artistic freedom on the pages which is a liberty most artists crave. THIS WAS A SPLASH PAGE THAT WAS COLORED BY JOSH SHOCKLEY & FEATURED AS A BACK COVER FOR THE BOOK

     Additional stories include Mathew Shockley's noir tale 'LADY LUCK', 'GUNS & CANDY' written by Josh Shockley with art by Brandon Spicer, Josh Shockley's 'IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR', and 'WHEN I WAS YOUR AGE' written by James Dufendach with art by Brandon Spicer. I enjoyed all of these stories being a big fan of both horror & Helloween and it's great to see some of my favorite creators in indie comics throw down their talents. The stories are fun to read & the art is a treat for the eyes, all of which is complimented by James Dufendach's lettering.
